We look for a firm, level surface about 25–30 mm below paths and edges so the finished lawn sits flush. If it has settled or been dug up by rain or pets, we give it a quick rake and roll first. Doing that at the start saves weeks of trying to fix a bumpy lawn later.
Turf is cut at the farm the day before or the morning of delivery and should be down within 24 hours. We schedule delivery and laying for the same morning so the rolls are not left stacked in the driveway going yellow.
